WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A TYPE 2 AND TYPE 3 CHARGING CABLE?

The main difference between a Type 2 and a Type 3 EV charging cable has to do with safety and compatibility. The type 2 charging cable is the most widely used in Europe and is used for both home and public charging. This cable is compatible with a wide range of electric cars and charging stations. The type 3 charging cable, on the other hand, was mainly developed for the French and Italian markets and is less common in other countries. An important feature of the type 3 charging cable is the presence of a locking mechanism for extra safety. However , due to its greater compatibility and market acceptance, the Type 2 charging cable has become the most popular choice for electric cars in Europe.
